In 2012, after the passing of Levon Helm, myself and the guys in The Rev Tor Band developed the concept of The Last Waltz Live as a tribute and featuring members of the local music community to perform the songs of the film’s original special guests. We performed the show several times that year.
Later that year we were approached by Music in Common with an offer to produce the show for us. In exchange, we agreed the show would exclusevly benefit the organization’s programs.
Together we did almost 20 shows in two years throughout the Northeast. We are very proud of the work we did with MiC and the money we raised for their programs.
In recent months it has become clear that our goals for the show are no longer in sync with MiC’s so we have decided to amicably end our arrangement.
While The Last Waltz Live will no longer be produced by or benefit MiC, we still support their mission and hope you will too
Moving forward, we have every intention of continuing this show we love so much and have put so much time, energy and sweat in to. We have spent the last few years fine-tuning the production, I look forward to continuing on as music director, along with The Rev Tor Band members, and crew.
We hope to see you all again at a future waltz.
Till we Waltz again……
